Hi there, Happy Monday!
Today’s newsletter is just a bit different, as I wanted to share some summer kitchen essentials that we use A LOT during these months at home. I promise, one day, I will give you a tour of our kitchen; I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now, but I always forget when the kitchen is actually organized 😅which doesn’t happen often!
Also, on Saturday, we had our first cook-along; reach out to me if you would like to have it. I recorded it so you guys could watch it later. For the next cook-along, what would you like to cook together?
This is my list for essential gadgets in the kitchen during the summer months, let me know what’s yours!
1. Popsicle Molds
We have two kids, so popsicle molds are a popular gadget during these months. We have three sets, all silicone, and some are dinosaur-shaped. The ones I like the best are the ones that come with wooden sticks. We got some with plastic sticks before, but they broke very fast. We have two recipes for popsicles on the blog, so make sure you have a look if you want to start making your own popsicles. Matcha popsicles and Mango popsicles.
2. Bullet Blender
This bullet blender is great for preparing refreshing drinks or smoothies this summer. Kids like having a cold mango drink or banana milk after school, and having our Ninja Bullet makes everything way easier. You can also use it to prepare the mixture for your popsicles or cold soups like gazpacho.
3. Water dispenser
Our water dispenser is so handy for these hot summer days! We add some ice, fresh mint, and lemon, and make a big batch of refreshing water for the pool, or for when we have people over for dinner.
4. Salad Spinner
Since we grow our own salad, we’re eating way more salads than before. Summer months are great for refreshing dishes, and what’s more refreshing than a fresh salad? A salad spinner is super handy to wash your salad leaves and get all the excess water out fast.
5. Melon Baller
My mum used to make these for me when I was a kid, and I love making them for my kids. They normally eat fruit, but when I serve it like this, they enjoy it way more! Use this fun tool to shape your melon and watermelon into balls and prepare a different-looking fruit salad for your family!
6. Mason Jars
I have a set of Mason Jars, which are very handy for summer. I like enjoying my iced coffee while walking around the garden, it is one of those moments of the day that I enjoy the most, and a jar filled with a refreshing drink makes it even better!
7. Cooler
If you like going out for the day, or enjoy a dinner outdoors, a cooler is a must! We got one last year, and we use it a lot. We like taking the kids to the beach late in the evening, and we bring out some food to have for dinner. It’s such a fun way to finish a hot day, and with a cooler, bringing out the food and drinks is much easier.
8. Ice Cream Maker
You can find amazing recipes for vegan ice cream so having an ice cream maker to make your own summer desserts is not a bad idea! It’s definitely healthier than store-bought and probably much tastier!
Now, tell me, what is essential in your summer kitchen?
Love,
Laura.
Now I am thinking I need an ice cream maker! My family would be thrilled.
